The schools now owns the land at Dayton-Xenia and Ankeney roads in Beavercreek Twp. after paying $25,500 per acre. It will be the site for a middle school and a elementary school.

While renovations of existing schools began nearly a year ago, construction of the new schools encountered problems.

After negotiations with Nutter over another property in the heart of the planned Stonehill Village community failed, the district waited months for a rezoning request to be approved on the Ankeney property.

Township trustees approved the zoning change, removing the land from the Stonehill Village development on April 12.

Robert Nutter also expressed his family's excitement that the project is moving forward. "The Nutter family is happy that the land will be used to benefit the children of Beavercreek," he said.

Community members who wish to give input on the preliminary site plan should plan to attend a currently unscheduled zoning commission meeting.
