North Somerset Council says the future of three of Westonsuper- Mare's most valued tourism services looks bright, just days after the owner of the resort's pier criticised the authority for not investing enough in tourism.

With the threat of public spending cuts looming, the authority says it has worked to reduce the cost of providing these services and has so far generated Pounds 272,000 over a three-year period. Now, through working in partner ship with the private sector, all three will receive capital investment enabling a new Tourist Information Service to be developed at the Winter Gardens and for some much needed repairs and building works at the theatre and Winter Gardens.
