Pete, 27, played two gigs in Graz in Austria last weekend and decided to do a spot of shopping in Vienna airport on his way home on Monday.
We're told he hit the Burberry shop with his friend The General, who he met in prison, and bought a fetching patterned coat and a watch.
After forking out over pounds 450 for that he decided to pick up a little something for on/off lover Kate Moss, 32 - but seemingly "forgot" to pay for it.
One shop worker told us: "It was bizarre. He paid for the coat and watch but then walked out with two scarves.
"He took a pink one and one for himself that should have Fake Chopard Watches cost pounds 175."
We bet Kate, dropped as the face of Burberry after the Daily Mirror exposed her cocaine abuse, will be so chuffed.
"I called the police when he left the shop," the assistant went on.
"They chased him to his gate and found the scarves on him, he told them he 'forgot' to pay and handed over the EUR250 in crumpled EUR5 notes."
And the drama didn't end there for pasty Pete, who'd played the Non Stop Kino Graz porno cinema.
We're told he decided to light up a cigar in the economy section of the plane on his flight home.
He refused to put it out and shouted at flight attendants: "F*** off I could charter my own flight if I wanted."
"When they threatened to throw him off the flight he agreed to put it out, but it took some persuading."
His bandmates in Babyshambles - Drew McConnell, Adam Ficek and Patrick Fake Elini Walden - refused to go to Austria because the band were supposed to support The Cure in the Royal Albert Hall on Saturday night.
Now an insider tells us: "It's all starting to fall apart and people are cracking under the pressure."
