A lawyer and three of his friends were arrested for robbing a businessman, H Srinivasamurthy, of his luxury car, valuables worth Rs20 lakh and Rs30,000 in cash, a month ago.
Police said that the accused, Gowrish Audemars Piguet Watches (29) from Annapurneshwarinagar, and his friends were travelling in a Toyota Qualis and an Indica on the Ring Road near Veerabhadra slum on November 13, when they rammed into a Skoda, driven by Srinivasamurthy, from behind.
At first, the advocate and his aides seemed willing to help repair the businessman's vehicle. However, the truth dawned upon Srinivasamurthy when they brandished a pistol and started threatening him of dire consequences. They robbed him of a Rado watch, two gold chains and a bracelet - besides the credit cards and cash on his person. Following this, they took his car keys and drove away with the vehicle, a complaint lodged by Srinivasamurthy stated.
Louis Vuitton ReplicaPolice said that they have also arrested Gowrish's associates, Ramesh alias Dummesh (22), K Krishnamurthy alias Abercrombie&Fitch wholesale Kuri Krishna (27) and Krishna (20), all three hailing from Sunkadakatte. The Skoda car and the other valuables were recovered from Ramesh.
Police said that Gowrish used to practise as a lawyer until he decided to enter the real estate business recently. Gowrish used to keep an eye out for rich people, after which he would rob them with the help of his associates.
Police said that some of his other gang members are still absconding.
